Angela Blakely

Angela Blakely has established a substantial record as a documentary photographer. She is interested in the potential of the documentist to act as a meaningful interpreter where, through the photographer, the audience becomes a stakeholder in the lives of others. She states that photography is a means that allows her access into people's lives where she can work closely and in collaboration with others to share their stories with a broader audience.

Angela has completed several significant documentary projects, including issues surrounding eating disorders; sexual abuse; and suicide and grief. She continues to work on projects, in collaboration with David Lloyd, documenting survivors of the Rwanda Genocide and, within Australia, substance misuse in the Indigenous communities of Queensland's far north.
